About Personalized Therapy

Several targeted therapies selectively act against molecular targets expressed in some tumors, and may interfere in tumor growth and progression.1

Identifying tumor biomarkers when a diagnosis is made may help physicians choose an effective treatment while avoiding potentially ineffective ones. Moreover, as molecularly targeted therapy becomes more common, it may be increasingly important to assess therapeutic targets to help predict clinical response. In other words, targeted therapies and their associated biomarkers often 'co-evolve.'2
